Reserve Threads, in the jar and in the pouch.
Three compounds. One remarkable flower.
Crocin
The Colour
The carotenoid behind saffron's signature deep red-gold. High crocin content is the single biggest driver of colour strength, and the clearest sign of a genuinely premium thread.
Picrocrocin
The Flavour
The compound behind saffron's distinctive bitter-sweet, hay-like flavour. It's what turns a rice dish or broth into something unmistakably saffron.
Safranal
The Aroma
The essential oil behind saffron's distinctive scent, released as the threads steep, and the reason a pinch can perfume an entire kitchen.
hand-picked flowers, each with just three fragile stigmas, go into a single gram of saffron. Reserve Threads keeps that effort whole and unground, so colour, flavour and aroma stay intact until the moment you steep it.
Reserve Threads is a culinary spice. Store sealed, away from light and heat, for the longest-lasting colour and aroma.
The Saffron Standard.
Exceptional saffron, without compromise.

Every batch across our range is tested by Eurofins UK for heavy metals, microbiological contaminants, mycotoxins, PAHs & pyrrolizidine alkaloids, and certified ISO 3632 Grade I.

"This saffron brand is incredible. The aroma is rich and fresh, and the threads are deep red and pure, no fillers or broken pieces. Just a small pinch added amazing flavor and color to my paella. You can tell it's truly premium. I'll definitely be buying again!"

Good to know.
How much saffron do I need for a recipe?
A pinch, around 8 to 10 threads, is enough for most dishes serving four. Steep it in a little warm water, stock or milk for 10 to 15 minutes before adding, this draws out the colour and flavour fully.
Why whole threads instead of ground saffron?
Whole threads hold their colour, flavour and aroma far longer than ground saffron, and they're much harder to adulterate. You can see exactly what you're getting, then grind or steep it fresh yourself.
How should I store Reserve Threads?
Keep the pouch or jar sealed, away from light and heat. It's resealable after opening, so the threads stay at their best for up to two years.
Can I use it in drinks, not just cooking?
Yes. Reserve Threads works beautifully steeped as a saffron tea, or infused into a syrup for cocktails, both are covered in our How To Use It guide above.
Can I cancel my subscription anytime?
Yes, skip, pause or cancel your subscription anytime, no questions asked, once Subscribe & Save is available for this product.
Where does the saffron come from?
Premium Spanish saffron, hand-harvested and hand-selected, independently tested for purity and quality before it reaches your pouch or jar.
